new earbuds
hi,
just got my new 15gb ipod and am looking for some new earbuds.
i am in the uk and am looking for something in the 0-100$ range.
i am having trouble deciding between the sony EX71SL and the 888's. Could anyone explaing the main difference between them..
Sound isolation is not terribly important, but would be nice. Obviously sound quality is..
also, has anyone had any experience with the Bang & Olufsen A8 earphones?
cheers,

meme,
The subject of earphones/buds/plugs has been addressed time and again over on the old forum.
Here (http://www.xsorbit1.com/users/dennx/index.cgi?board=ipodgear&action=display&num=1050636079) is a link to Jackonicko's views on the 888's and EX70/71's.
Here (http://www.xsorbit1.com/users/dennx/index.cgi?board=ipodgear&action=display&num=1048587408) is a comparison between the two.
Here (http://www.xsorbit1.com/users/dennx/index.cgi?board=ipodgear&action=display&num=1042407787&start=8) is a post about the A8's v ER4P's
And lastly a few minutes spent reading this (http://ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=265) might help you find answers from the vast amount of information already posted on iPodlounge.

Jackonicko is the 888 master and has posted several good messages about them on the old forums - check those out first.
The 888s are more expensive, larger and have somewhat better sound quality. I find them less comfortable than the 70/71s.
If isolation is unimportant, try the 888s for comfort. If they fit you, you'll be -very- happy with them, I'm sure. Good luck :-)

If sound isolation isnt important, then forget about the EX70/71's.
Even with possible mods, the sound is muddy, and there isnt much clarity in the high end.
The 888's are nice, but just remember they're a very fragile set of earbuds.

What is the mod for the EX70/71's?
