iPod Headphones
When I first got my iPod, I thought the headphones were decent. But after a fall of probably 3 feet, I have noticed that even with bass reducer on, the ipods headphones still crackle and crunch at every bassy tone. I was just wonderin, does this happen after they break in and is this common? (Because I think the sound deteriorated from the fall). Also, I listen to rap and Hip-Hop the majority of the time. Thanks in advance :):)

Any EQ setting (most anyways) make the music produce cracking noise. Make sure your EQ is off.

the included earbuds for the ipod suck....
They won't break in at all, or at least they won't break in well, sound will still suck with 'em.
As for equalizers, with my Shure E2's, I use treble booster, which really broadens the sound of in-ear phones, for my personal tastes, and does not add hissing or take anything away from general portable listening.
If you go to head-fi.org, there are many threads regarding portable headphone use....there are much betyter options, as low as $20 dollars, which will give you mind-blowingly better sound (such as the bargain basement koss ksc-50's)
