Bigger is, all other things being equal, better.Not sure that there is any difference in driver size though, think that both are a nominal 9-mm, and think that impedence, sensitivity and frequency response is the same.
I think that the 71 is marginally better than the EX70, though the bass is too heavy for my taste and I find the Apple buds and Senny 500s much better, while the Sony 888 is on another planet, quality-wise.

Tin-Can and a piece of cotton string is better than the Apple buds. Even the "improved" ones with the 2nd gen onwards are garbage.

'bout the "Sony 888 on another planet, quality-wise" - as in much better or
worse than the EX70/71's? Would like to get your opinion. I own both EX70
and E888SP's and find that bass gets very distorted. But I've heard lots of
ppl rave about E888's.

The 71 and 70 do differ slightly in appearance. I suspect that the 71 and 51 may use many common components however, since they look identical.Jackonicko at 2007-11-15 15:36:18 >
