I just enjoy the e2's, they are very good headphones for the price...but then again, theres that price. If you are tight on cash, these might not be a good choice, but I would still suggest that you not have crummy headphones with your iPod. You spent a lot of money on your iPod not to have crappy sound, so have everything at 192 or higher and some good 'phones like the e2's.
I don't like the fit of the portapro's, but thats probably just me. The aesthetics of that headphone are not very appealing to me either.

I own them both. I've had the portapros for about 6 months, and just bought the E2s a few days ago. I've let others listen to my ipod on the portapros, and they all commented on the great sound of those headphones. I find them remarkably good for the money. With that said, and the E2s being almost double the price, the E2s might be better. I'm just getting used to having these things inside my ear, but they do sound good, the definition in the sound is very evident. The Portapros are more comfortable, you can wear them all day. With the E2s, I can't hear anything else while the music is playing, as they isolate you from the outside world, and for you that is either a good thing or bad thing. Depends on the situation.
Picking a headphone is totally subjective anyway. Try each one and pick the one you like better. Only you can decide what is good for you. I own them both, I like them both.
