Best earphones for activity

I am buying an ipod in the next month. I would like to get a good set of earphones. I have been looking at the Shure E2c's. I like to ride my mountain bike and would love to listen to music. My question is: Are these going to block out to much ambient noise to make it dangerous to ride? I ride alot on the street, not just mountains.

Thanks for the input.

Hell ya it's dangerous. Maybe it might be ok for the mountains, but not in the streets. I just bought a pair of E2s and they are very isolating. I was a bit disappointed with the E2 until I listened to them through my laptop and my receiver. With ipod, the bass is bit lacking, but when I hooked it to a more powerful device, the E2 started to shine. Can't wait til it's fully broken-in.

Also for me, the E2s aren't as comfortable as EX-51LP (similar to EX-70s) and they are heavier because they have thick wires. However, the E2 has less microphonic noise coming from the wire.
