Appearance & Ergonomics
Wow... very pleasing to the eyes. I know looks arent that important, but try saying that when you've got a pair of grados on your head:D . They do feel a little 'plasticky', especially for cans that cost about $90US, but they feel very durable for headphones. They fold up, are very compact, and are the only pair of headphones that have a short cord.
Another plus is the fact that there's only one wire running down from the headphone (as opposed to two wires that most headphones/earbuds have, where each side has a wire running down).
Comfort & Isolation/Leakage
Having worn them for a short period, I can say that they're very very comfy. Plus they'll make good earmuffs in the winter;) . However, these puppies will leak a bit of sound. Isolation isnt bad, but not as good as the EX70/71s.
Sound Quality
I've only listened to these things for about an hour, so they're not completely burned in yet, but Im very impressed with the sound. I was a little skeptical at first, as I've heard people saying it sounds a bit hollow, and lacks bass... but that's simply not true (maybe on the lowend a bit). The bass on these cans are 'tight', whereas the bass on a set of Portapros or EX70/71s are 'boomy'. The highends arent too bad, but they sound just a bit too 'bright'. However, it's really in the mid range that the D66's shine. Very clean audio, as it has this nice 'musical' type sound to it.
Overall Im very happy with this purchase, and they should sound even better given a couple of days of use.
