i really dont understand why...

there are currently no ripping programs for the AAC format that just rip straight to AAC. Everyone that knows anything about this format says its gotta be ripped to .wav and then renamed, and then the file extension needs to be changed after that, and then, and then, and then...SHEESH! I think ill just stick with regular mp3's for all the hassle!

Well, there's iTunes, but I'm assuming you are on Windows.

You can rip straight to mp4 using Nero6. Tagging is another issue though, and although Nero does add things like Artist and Album name as a tag, Ephpod doesn't read them.

At the moment I rip wavs with CDEX using this naming format:

Radiohead - OK Computer - 06 - Karma Police - Rock - 1997.wav

And then encode them to mp4 (Nero6 AAC Transparent VBR) maintaining the file name.

Then just set Ephpod to read the information: %a - %L - %n - %t - %g - %y.

Which automatically fills the database with the correct data. It's not the most efficient method but I'll re-encode and tag properly once iTunes is released for Windows.
