Was there life before the iPod?

Had my 20 gig iPod for about a year now - changed to the 40 gig version this week. I just reviewed a little my investement. How #### cool is this iPod. It is there all the time. I wake up to a cool song played by the iPod. Later, I plug it into my carstereo and REALLY wake up listening to my randomized morning tunes. With jRivers Media Center (the brushed metal skin, of course) I can create Smartlists for BPM's and Intensity of songs - love those ">150 BPM-Songs" early morning. The list goes on with Spanish-lessons I listen to during the day, my mental training CD's are on there. I work as a fitness instructor, gone are the days when I had to carry my 250 CD's from one center to the other. (pitchcontrol would be nice - my formerly owned Nomad jukebox had that feature - but hey, that player was as big as my suitcase and it took 2 minutes to start up every time). Summer Barbeques got just so much more ambiente with Gloria Estefan or Chillout Music playing in the background. Waiting times at airports suddenly became less of a hassle, with all my tunes on me. Back in the old age of CD-Player, that one CD I really wanted to listen to on a plane was always missing. In my job, I spend weeks and weeks in unpersonal hotelrooms. Add some Backgroundmusic to that and I feel home. With the new alarmclock, I'm not scared anymore of sleeping past my destination station while being on a train.

Would love the feature to add currently playing songs to certain playlists on-the-go.

Hate people looking through my musiclibraries on the iPod, yelling out "what? You got a samantha fox song on this?"

Plus, that gorgeous iPod Box is still sitting there on my shelf. The experience of taking the iPod out of the box was almost worth the investement. Have fun with it and remember what a pain in the ### those old cassette tapes were.

There was life, but it was more tedious and less full of music.

As a single mom, I don't get a lot of time to sit in a comfortable chair at optimal distance from speakers listening to my favorite sounds.

I moved my son to a new school which means more driving time every day. I make sure the iPod is charged and loaded and it makes the whole thing much more tolerable (the return trips without him in the car, that is) - even fun sometimes. I discover old friends that I forgot to listen to when it meant taking out a CD and walking it all the way across the room...

My iPod was a gift, but if something happened to it, I'd replace it in a moment.

It's funny, but my wife (who I got her an iPod for Mother's Day this year) expressed how ticked off she gets if she forgets to bring her iPod to work with her. She said that if she's going to the breakroom for a moment she either locks the thing up in her locking file cabinet or just carries it with her - she's afraid to lose it. Gone are the days where she was lugging around a bag of CD's, some with broken cases because they got banged around in transport. She's a happy iPod user (addict).

Nibey,

Good Story

I agree the ipod is now part of my life and pretty much take it wherever I go.

One thing that has always bugged me is that I cannot get the alarm to work and some people have said that it is becuase i use MC9, however I notice that you have got it to work...

any chance of a step by step as to how you do it?

Thanks,

Paul
