4hrs since I got my 15GB Gen3
:D :D :D
unfortuntely, my iBook takes another 3 weeks. So i had to use windows XP...i had some startup problems (as expected) , i still get the "Do not Diconnect" which was very concerning...
My first impressions, WOW. form factor, size, weight, feel...WOW.
Since this is my first iPod...ever...i guess i was a little blown away by everything...i am still quite speechless and will probably be able to compose a coherent sentence soon..
ps-One question, I got it in Japan (where i live DUH), but I didnt get the english manual. I cant seem to find it anywhere on apple.com either..they only have the previous manuals. Any links/helps?
Cheers.

Congrats on your new iPod.
You should be seeing the "Do not disconnect" message. It means Windows has recognized the iPod and you're ready to transfer files to/from it. When you're done, unmount the iPod using the safely remove hardware icon in your system tray.

Hey Sinster. Where do you live in Japan? So I guess I wasn't the only one who rushed to the stores Friday morning and grabbed a new ipod. Got the 30GB. Like the storage capacity- but it is beefer than the 15GB model...
As the manual. Did you know that there is an English .pdf manual on the ipod cd? I think mine was automatically installed when I went through the installation process. If yours wasn't- Id hunt around on the cd as it is on there. Ganbatte!

A Gen 4? There will lots of ####ed folks if they come out with a Gen 4 this soon unless they have a retrofit program so I can send my iPod in to get the new battery.

Yeah, but for me, the lack of a really long battery life isn't that big of a problem. Next to my bed, I keep all of my stuff. At night, I do all of my charging. Charge my radio for recieving dispatches from ambulance headquarters, silence my beeper, plug in my Danger Sidekick, plug in my laptop, and now, dock my iPod. I'm always on the bleeding tech edge, and that usually means giving up battery life. I'm used to it. If i need more life, I get the belkin battery pack. Simple.

Yes, congrats on your iPod purchase! You can usually find english manuals at Apple support (www.apple.com/support) .
