Waiting for my ipod
Hello, everyone! I have been a dedicated ipod fan (without owning one yet) ever since they came out, and have been enjoying and observing this website for a while now also. I really wanted to get an ipod last summer, but I had just purchased an ibook and was too poor. :( I was thrilled when the new, sleek-looking ipods were introduced this summer, and am proud to announce that I placed my order for a 15 gig on Monday night. I had a music quote engraved on the back and am anxiously waiting for it to come. (This fall I will be a sophomore in college, a music performance major. Needless to say, music IS my life.) So, I am currently taking suggestions from anyone on how to make the waiting period easier. ;) It's killing me!!! Also, I hope the new iskins come out soon, because I really liked all the colors they had available. Right now the only ones out are the speck ones, which are ok but I was really sold on color variety before. Anyway, time to quit rambling...good to be a part of the ipod community!! :)

Christy,
Welcome to iPodlounge at long last!!
Well a lot of folk seem to spend their time, pre-iPod, ripping all their CD's to MP3 and playing around with the tags. You could do that if you haven't already done so.
You could just spend some time reading up on various threads that may be of help, should you encounter any problems - forewarned is forearmed.
Or you could enjoy the last few days of freedom before you become totally addicted to iPodlounge!! ;)

Wow that's my story exactly!
While waiting for mine to arrive I read and re-read "Secrets of the iPod" or spent hours on end reading threads here (like you have done) and actually plagued myself with thoughts on which category/genre to choose for portishead, depeche mode or coldplay. It does border on philosophy.

You would be right about the "totally addicted to iPodlounge" part!
How could this place NOT be addictive?
I'm hooked and there's no cure in sight :-)
