10GB of pure perfection....

So, on June 7th, I got all graduated from high school. After all of the weepy stuff, I got home and was anxious to open my graduation presents. My mom set a large box in front of me. Once opened, immediately visible inside was a small rectangular box: it turned out to be the digital camera I wanted (Canon PowerShot A60). Cool. My mom then said, "Look deeper." I pulled out a wad of wrapping paper, revealing a wrapped box that was very distinctly cubic. :D I tore the wrapping paper off, and a great light shone down, and angelic voices sang out. (At least, I think that's how it happened... :) ) I immediately opened the box (love that box design!) and picked it up.

WOW! As great as it was playing with it at the Apple Store, having one of your very own is a million times better! I plugged it into my PowerBook and iTunes came up. What to name it? I put in "Pocket iTunes" initally, just so it would have something other than the default name. "Automatically synchronize"? Well, duh! In a minute or two, all 164 songs that I had to offer it were loaded. My first selection? Why, none other than the iPod song...The Propellerheads' "Take California". I attempted some dance moves like the commercial, quickly learning where that "white guys can't dance" stereotype comes from. ;) My grandma (who bought the iPod, incidentally) asked: "So, how do you get the music on to it?" I told her, "My music is already on it. I plugged it into my computer and it pulled all the songs over." Her reply: "Wow...no wonder those things cost so much!"

So, it's been about a week. I take it most everywhere, and, sadly, it shows. I need a case, and some of that plastic scratch remover stuff. (What do you folks reccomend, on both counts?)
I'm sure if my iPod could talk, it'd tell you that it's altogether sick of Flogging Molly's "Drunken Lullabies" album, as well as Billy Joel's song "Piano Man".
