Long Battery Life

While driving from Manhattan, Kansas to Williamsport, PA I listened to my iPod yesterday (version 2- not a new one) for 12 hours and 35 minutes on a single charge. Try to do that with a version 3 :)

Actually, it does. It is big, but it fits. I don't wear tight jeans, so it isn't a big problem (I don't wear baggy pants either). Also, most of the time I have it in my booksack, since I have the wired remote, which has a screen on it.

Well if you can fit a portable cd player in your pocket, you can fit the NJB3 in your pocket!!!

Oh, by the way:

Can you record from a line-in with your iPod?
Can you record from an optical in with your iPod?
Can you playback in surround sound with lineouts with your iPod?
Can you record from a microphone with your iPod?
Can you record off of FM raido with your iPod?
Can you listen to music for almost 22 hours without charging your iPod?
Can you upgrade the hardrive using a standard HDD you can get at office depo in your iPod?
Can you playback sound at a 98db SNR with your iPod?
Can you go a day without a case without scratching up your iPod?

My point indeed! :D

WOW, WOW, WOW!!! First of all, Don't be hatin! This isn't an mp3 player battle here. Just a discussion about how long an iPod can last. A person isn't a showoff if he says how long his lasted. . . everyone's lasts approx. the same time!. I don't (and probably nobody here) cares about your mp3 player, or whatever it is. Who cares if it has some features that the iPod doesn't have, the iPod has sold more, and for good reason.

Can you use yours as an external hard drive?
Can you play games on yours?
Can you look at calendars, contacts, and time?
Can you make alarms on yours?
Does yours transfer files/charge via firewire?
Does yours work with both mac/pc?
Does yours have a touchpad?

I'm not familiar with your player, but I think that you will answer "no" to most of the questions. The slogan to the site is "All Things iPod"... Don't be bringing your non-iPod questions into an iPod forum!

Except for the battery, I don't want any of those features! The reasons we love the iPod is because it is simple, small, and beautiful. The NJB3 can't fill any of those categories. All of those 'extra' features just complicate things and most people don't want them.

P.S. This is an iPod board where we praise the iPod, if you want to praise the NJB3 you should go elsewhere!

Dtnjb3-
Seems like you are in the wrong place to glorify the NJB3. I had one before I got my iPod and it sucked a$$ - It was broken out of box (hard drive) and had to take it back. Big hassle with Nomad. Got a replacement and it is just too big, clunky. The user interface is HORRIDLY slow and cumbersome, NOT user friendly!!! Files take forever to transfer! To add to it, the NJB3 is not very good looking (and horrible looking compared to the iPod). The only thing I liked was the battery. You seriously have nothing to brag about!
