A couple of weeks ago I mentioned to my wife that I wanted the Belkin car charger for the iPod so I could use it on an upcoming road trip. Today she hands it to me all rapped up with a bow and card and the whole bit. Just recently she was telling me how I spend to much time playing with it (...

I installed my iPod in my car a few months ago. I have it hardwired through an AUX IN on the back of the unit. When the iPod is not charging, everything sounds amazing and works great. However, when the iPod is charging, there is a buzz coming through my speakers. (It's similar to a buzz sound...
I pre-ordered my iTrip from Griffen back in early July and after much delay I was informed that they were still not going to be released but that they are going to release a release date in Oct and once shipped will take at least a few weeks to get. I emailed Griffen and told them in a professional...

As a stepping stone to my utlimate goal of a one cable iPod auto cable (power and audio), I made a Firewire<->Cigarette adaptor cable. (I hadn't seen any previoous instructions, so figured I'd take pics and document a bit) 1. Solder a wire from pin 1 of the Firewire connector to t...

I have to get a new head unit in my car since my current does not have an aux input. What are some good head units that work well with the ipod? Actually, any info on getting a good setup for my ipod in my car would be helpful. I want to do a hardwire install, no FM transmitter crap.

HiHope this forum is ok for a hardware tech question, couldn't see any others.I am just about to go buy my first iPod 3G 20GB model with dock station etc...My in-car deck has an aux input on the back for CD changers. I want to plug my new iPod into it. Cabling aside, I am concerned the iPod wil...
Last year I mounted my 10 GB ipod in my Impulse. The holder is cut out of sheet aluminum and mounted to the side of the centre console. I ran the recharge wire behind the console. I have since added the remote by the e-brake handle.
Ok, i've heard that charging your Ipod too often can cause battery problems. This causes me to hesitate to use the easiest in car solution: the belkin charger with the line out port. When you plug in the Ipod so you can use the line out on the charger, you're charging the Ipod... Are my co...

Am I the only one who thinks that the audio quality of the line out is horrible? I have to keep the volume control on the charger almost all the way down and still it seems like a lot of high frequencies are cut. Do I need a new charger?
Hey all,I recently gave up my 2002 Volkswagen GTI 337 Edition for a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. I'm ecstatic except that the Evo doesn't have a tape player in it (which is how I used to use my IPod in the VW.)Has anyone rigged a way for the IPod to play though the stock head unit in...

Hey all,I was looking for anyone who has done any iPod installs on a 2004 325Ci. The FM transmitter is useless to me so I am looking for a hard wired install for a clear(er) sound and a clean install.I have decided to go with the Belkin Auto kit as it seems the only way to go.I am leaning toward th...
I've been thinking about getting my iPOD connected to my car-stereo, but how should I connect it? The iPOD doesn't have a line out on the actual unit. I can't use my dock in the car, too unpractical. So, you guys that have your iPOD in the car; In what way have you solved this matter?...
i was wondering what do you guys think is the best in car solution besides the gooseneck. i was highly considering buying it but its just too expensive. i like the idea that you dont have to drill any holes etc. i thought of the idea of a vent mount but that would block my a/c...and i live in arizon...

My goal is simple: to be able to listen to iPod in car with minimum effort. Thus, I choose cassette adapter instead of wired FM modulator. To my surprise, the sound is actually decent. Although there is some hiss when the music is off, I can't hear any hiss when I am actually on the road with m...
I just bought one of these and they are pretty good. They fit exactly as you slide the iPod into place. I did not buy the bracket but just the holder, but you may want to do the bracket thing as well. kinda expensive, but works and looks nice. Here is the link but the main page is www.proclipusa.com...

I was paging through the latest MacAddict magazine at my local bookstore, and was surprised to see an ad from everythingipod.com featuring a large, detailed picture of the 3G Transpod FM. I must say, it looked like an amazing product.First thing to note is that it looks NOTHING like this. http://www...
I just bought a Transpod on E-Bay, and I can't get the thing to tune in to my radio. I didn't receive any manual. Does any one know of a usere's manual, instructions, or a web page I can get it.
Does anyone in the UK have a view on the best cassette adapter available here? I'll be using my iPod in a VW Golf. Thanks.

I'm looking for inexpensive cigarette lighter charger for iPod 3G with possible line out. I have AUX input in my stereo and my cigarette lighter depowered when a car at park. (I do not worry about draining battery, so I do not need switch off for an adapter) Any recommendations?
Just saw the announcement for the ProClip for iPod ( http://www.proclipusa.com/frameset.htm). Reviews of ProClip attachments in general seem to be pretty positive. What do people think of this one? Do you think it will be scratch-prone? How about space on the bottom for the Belkin charger?
