Do any owners of these phones find the cable to be too long? It is 62 inches? Over 5 feet? Does anyone find that this gets in the way? I'm thinking about buying these for running and working out. But if the cable is going to be in way, I may think twice. I guess I could find some way to l...

i found the supplied apple earbuds (and earbuds in general) to be too wide to be comfortable; from the pictures ive seen, the ex70's and ex71's seem to be narrower and go deeper into the ear, are they more comfortable than the apple earbuds? thnx in advance.

My dog ate my cheap Aiwa's, and I was thinking about upgrading. Listened to Sony MDR700DJ's at Best Buy, but they're $150 and I heard that Grado SR60's sound better. Trying to find a vendor. Does anyone buy them locally, or from a website? Thanks

I bought these headphones thinking they would be as decent as the Sony MDR-EX71SL. They look almost identical but are only $30 making them a good deal. Well, it wasn't such a good deal. These are the worst sounding headphones I have ever used. I own the Sony's as well and there is no comp...

For those that own the Sony's, I have a question about the cord. The box says adjustable, but I can't move the little silver connector at all. Without the extension cord, these seem really short. The left ear to the ipod is short, and there is a lot of slack between the right and the sl...

Does anyone know how or where I can get replacement covers for the earbuds that come with all models. I know that an extra pair is provided, but I've managed to lose all 4. Is there anything even remotely similar at sony stores or something?

Just got a pair of sony's MDR-71SL and was surprised at the lack of volume they provided, and wanted to know if anyone else had this problem?I've heard a lot of good things about them but could'nt have been more dissapointed with them....While the original apple phones are a tad bit d...

I have the MX500s but they broke and now the treble is way to screechy "s"'s are just terrible. I have only had them for like 5 or 6 months and I am not impressed they are broken already, but whatever. I remember reading that the MX400 and MX500 are the same sound quality, but the 500 is blue...
Where is the best place to buy the Sony MDREX71SL (white version) in the UK? Thanks in advance
I am a frequent airline traveler and other than my ipod, some sort of noise canceling headphone is a must for my carry-on bag. Currently I am using AIWA HP-CN5 noise canceling headphones, but need to get some new ones. AIWA's are good, but can get uncomfortable after an hour or two of usage. Oh...

Was wondering if any iPodders have or have used the Bang & Olufsen A8 earphones? http://www.bang-olufsen.com/Web/Estore/Market/US/Product.asp?ProductID=1640511&ProductTypeID=1 They look like a fantastic design especially compared to the Apple earbuds which seem to just pop right out of my ears. I'm looking to buy a really nice, amazing sounding set of cans. Preferably, a set under $70. Anyone have any suggestions? Also, I've looked into some models. Some models seem to require an "external amplifier" which I'm not completely sure what this really means. Will the iPod's...

I get too much treble and not enough base out of Etymotic Er-4ps. Is it recommended to use an EQ setting to increase the bass and decrease the treble ?

I was fairly happy with the original Apple buds except they did not block out much background noise. However i bought Sony XL71 & Shure E2c and now Etys. I have found each one to give me too little bass and too strong treble. For example i get much more base out of my Grado 80s. I have tried moisten...
I just picked up a 10GB about one week before a full day of flying (which turned into two thanks to crap weather in Chicago), and have found my 'Pod to be a real trooper. It sounds great, works well, and I couldn't be more pleased that I made this purchase. However, I hate the IBuds. Th...
When I first got my iPod, I thought the headphones were decent. But after a fall of probably 3 feet, I have noticed that even with bass reducer on, the ipods headphones still crackle and crunch at every bassy tone. I was just wonderin, does this happen after they break in and is this common? (Becaus...

Are there any audible differences between the EX51 and EX71? I bought a pair of the EX51s a couple of days ago and REALLY didn't like them, especially for the price. I returned them the same day. They looked almost identical, and the specifications are identical and they both use 9mm drivers. I...

Well after a day of use and testing, I came to the conclusion that the Shure E2 headphones were not for me. Now don't get me wrong, the sound quality from these things is gorgeous and the isolation is magnificant, the design of these things just didn't work for me.I like the in ear type wi...

I'm wearing them as I type this...They are a pretty decent pair of headphones. Excellent sound in a small package, you can't beat that. My only real concern is the comfortable factor. They kinda feel like rocks in my ears. I do have a good seal, but I think it's the end of the fitting...

Anybody out there use the etymotic er4ps with their ipod? I am considering a pair on ebay for $219.00 shipping included which is a great deal. I just wonder if anyone other than the reviewer here has a pair and how they sound with the ipod. I would appreciate the input.... thanks
Hey, I just received my Sony EX71s from audiocubes.com and I have a couple of problems with them.First off, is there supposed to be an "idling" sound when the volume is low? Even when music is playing, I have this ticking that continues and it's pretty annoying.Secondly, the included extension...

Was wondering what are the best earphones to get for around the ?25-?30 mark as my i-pod ones are not as good as I want I hear (no pun intended!!) that the MDR-ED238ML are good and the MDR-EX71SLB are very good as the fit inside the ear. Iwould also like white ones if you guys know of any?Thanks...
I don't like the style of this cord. How is one supposed to wear this, with it's non-symmetrical style. Do you hang that little plastic Sony piece beinhd your ear?I am just not used to wearing earbuds or phoens that don't have the cord come down in the middle. It's very awkward....

I've seen the E2c's on someones head on the Shure website, and the design is unique so that the wire can be put behind the ear and go by your back. Question: Do the Shure's have to go behind the ear rather than the wire just hang out in the front and go down?
Absolutely nothing like I thought they would sound, ESPECIALLY for $100 US! They sound tinny and there's virtually no bass at all (EQ - Rock). Extremely, extremely disappointed here. I could have paid $19.99 to get this quality of sound. Tell me I'm doing something wrong! - r
Wow, these Shure E2's sounds awesome! They come in 3 different sizes of foam and rubber plugs. I have to admit, they will take LOTS of getting used to. I am using the small foam buds, but the part that fits outside the cannal feels like a rock in my ear! I tried the rubber out and they are even...

I just bought an iPod for my girlfriend, but the earbuds that come with it are very uncomfortable for her ears. I'd like to get some new earbuds and don't have a lot to spend ($50) but the prime requirement is that they have to be comfortable. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
anyone know where to buy in uk ?
Since they're playing so close to the eardrum, I'm worried about these damaging the ears. I don't play at loud volumes, but since it's sooo close, I'm guessing that it could have negative effects on the ear. Can anyone confirm or disprove this? Thanks.
